The black death tarpon fly is one of the all-time favorite backcountry tarpon flies.  It has a thin snakey profile that tarpon just seem to love, especially when fished in stained or dirtier backcountry waters, where darker flies seem to create more of a profile than lighter colored flies. It is also an excellent pattern for nighttime tarpon fishing.
